It does not really come trough here but the fantastic view with the mountains around were half the attraction!

commentThere has been many theories for that :-)

One is that is was a bit of an experimental city, for experimenting crops etc. The terraces for growing stuff where not big enough to make any bigger difference but would be enough for experiments.

other reasons is of course the ease to defend against attackers.

Defender 1: How are the attackers doing?
Defender 2: Still climbing, some has fallen to their death.
Defender 1: Okay I'll take a nap, wake me when they start to get close.
