Radiation, hmmm

Taken by Rickard Liljeberglocation BoliviaTimeSep 01, 2009 - 23:53:23

This is the first road work I have ever seen where they actually have a radiation sign out. And from some of the equipment we saw I think they mean it too.

However I can simply not understand what radiation has to do with building a road.

Btw we spent like 3-4 hours on this road that they were converting from gravel to tarmac. However during construction now it was even worse. Lets just say it was an experience :-)

Luckily we made it almost all the way before dark... very lucky considering we then noticed that the cars lights hardly worked at all!

commentThey're probably using x-rays instead of sonic waves (like we do) to find out the condition of the road beneath the surface.
Or, the bad condition of the road made the used up radioactive material from a nuclear powerplant fall out of the bags of the donkey transporting it to the nearest garbage dump
